Novel Patient Community

I am doing some site upgrades and maintenance starting this weekend and over the next few weeks.  You may notice the site doesn’t look the same as normal.  I am working to fix that as soon as possible.  If you have problems please contact support.

There is also an important new feature; all the groups now have their own forum!  Check it out and enjoy!

Novel Patient Community is quickly approaching 100 signups!  But this is just the beginning!  It’s time to get busy and get involved!

You can now invite your friends to join NPC! Just click on My Account > Friends > Invite Friends!  You can also let people know about this community on other social networks like Twitter and Facebook.

You can also get involved by starting your own group! Just click on My Account > Groups > Create a Group!  Start a group for a chronic illness you have or something else that interests you!

Most importantly share you experiences! If you haven’t created a blog yet just click on My Blogs > Create a Blog!  Tell your story of living with chronic illness, share tips you’ve learned along the way, ask for advice, or just vent about a bad day.  Be creative and express yourself!  Then don’t forget to personalize your blog by picking a Theme (it’s under appearance from your blog’s dashboard).  There are over 50 themes to choose from, and some very cool new ones have just been added.  So be sure to check it out!

If you were having problems creating a blog (getting an error message that blogs were disabled) that should now be fixed.  I’m sorry for any inconvience that may have caused!

To create a new blog first Register and sign in.  Then mouse over “My Blogs” on the grey bar at the top and click on “Create a Blog!”  Fill out the form and you are ready to blog!

I am pleased to announce the opening of the Novel Patient Community beta!  Featuring member profiles, friends, blogs, groups, forums, and more, the Novel Patient Community is a place where patients with chronic illnesses can come together to find friendship, inspiration, and hope!

As a Novel Patient living with multiple chronic illnesses, I’ve found it hard to find people in the real world who can identify with and relate to my experiences, but I realized that through the power of the internet I could create a virtual space where other Novel Patients could gather to share and support each other through our unique journeys.  And so several months ago the concept of the Novel Patient Community was born!

But it wasn’t until this long weekend that I got to work.  Over the last three days I’ve been working tirelessly to build and design the Novel Patient Community from the ground up! (I’d like to thank David Flor, RungeKutta, and RedCT for their assistance when I got stuck!)

Now that my dream has become a reality, I hope you’ll join the Novel Patient Community as we celebrate what makes us all Novel Patients!
